advalidation.com – Really rather good

I was recently running through my followers on Twitter (which I apologise for as I don’t do it as often as I should) and discovered I was being followed by http://twitter.com/advalidation. So having signed up for  an account (free) I’ve just started using it for the past few days.

http://advalidation.com/ provides an easy to use and understandable interface into some of the more mundane and labourious QA tasks undertaken by AdOps teams in all publishers. To say that this site ticks a hole swathe of  ’to do’ boxes on my own development list is to do it a dis-service. If you re involved in ensuring the Quality Assurance of ads appearing on your site then pop along and apply up for an account. Briefly though their service supports some of the more obscure aspects of QAing your ads such as:

  • File type
  • File Size
  • Ad Dimensions
  • Flash Version
  • FPS
  • Click testing
  • CPU benchmarking
  • HTTP monitoring
  • Audio detection
  • File formats supported –  SWF, GIF, JPG, PNG
  • Email your creative directly into your account for automatic QAing
  • Emailed creative can be sent compressed in zipped or rared files

It also supports many popular 3rdparty tags, the supported 3rd parties as of time of writing this article are:

  • Adcentric
  • Adform
  • Admeta
  • AdAction/Deltaprojects
  • Atlas
  • Bluestreak
  • Connextra
  • DoubleClick DFA
  • Emediate/Headlight
  • Eyeblaster
  • Eyeturn
  • Eyewonder
  • Mediaplex
  • TradeDoubler

http://advalidation.com offers some very impressive features and undertakes some very complex analysis that would normally have your QA team busy for a few hours. It will help make your team more effective and responsive by making and quicker to respond to client’s queries and agency submissions
